Welcome to the Massachusetts Radiological Society Resident and Fellow Section!
The Massachusetts Radiological Society Resident & Fellow Section is pleased to report a successful start to our 2010-2011 academic year. We are proud to have continued active participation among residents throughout all of Massachusetts area. We had a record turnout at this past year’s American College of Radiology’s AMCLC in Washington, D.C. In fact Massachusetts had the most number of residents to attend the conference. We Hope to continue that success this year on both the local and national level.
Over the upcoming academic year the MRS-RFS executive committee has plenty in store for the Massachusetts radiology programs. We hope to identify at least one member at each radiology residency program in Massachusetts to be the MRS-RFS delegate to the executive committee. Also we hope to continue the ongoing effort of improving the resident participation of the local Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Oncology residency programs by offering additional delegate positions to the MRS-RFS executive committee. Over the next several months we plan on at least one formal and several informal social events so that Massachusetts residents can meet their fellow colleagues and learn about the various resources the MRS and ACR have available.
Additionally we will continue active participation at both the MRS Annual Meeting and the Annual Meeting of the ACR in Washington. On the national level, the MRS has been well represented in first annual ACR Poster presentations. In fact, one of the poster submissions from a Boston program was honored with an award. We hope to build on that success during this year’s second annual poster presentation.
As you can see, we have been busy and we intend on keeping busy. Many thanks go out to the future MRS-RFS delegates from each training program who will work hard to keep the momentum going. We look forward to continuing to serve the needs and interests of radiology, nuclear medicine and radiology oncology residents throughout Massachusetts.
Finally, none of this could be accomplished without the ongoing support and generosity of our MRS Chapter Leaders. Please accept our enthusiastic thanks on behalf of the entire Resident & Fellow Section.
Respectfully submitted,
